How Do You Read the Comparison Table?
- Tool and best fit. The vendor's best-fit buyer in plain words. The tags show the audiences that label names, with the main audience first. Select the tool name to open its full details in the Big List.
- Entry price. The lowest public monthly price, before tax, in the currency the vendor displays. Quote means no fixed public price was found. The small line under the price shows what the entry plan includes, or the billing term.
- Buy without a demo?. Yes means public signup, trial or checkout. Lower tiers means ordinary tiers are self-service and larger tiers are sales-led. No, sales-led means the public route runs through a company representative. A demo button does not always mean a demo is mandatory. Unverified means the paid route could not be confirmed.
- Top 3 pros and cons. Editorial reads of each vendor's public features, pricing and plan limits.
How Do You Compare AI Visibility Tools Fairly?
- 1. Convert plans to one unit. Tools sell unique tracked prompts, generated prompts, answer checks, credits, reports and workflow tasks. A panel of 50 prompts across 5 engines checked daily for 30 days needs 7,500 engine checks.
- 2. Confirm the measurement method. Browser observations, direct model API calls and keyword-derived answer indexes can disagree. Ask for the exact engine and model, grounded or search mode, location, language, refresh cadence and repeated-sampling budget.
- 3. Separate the signals. Brand mention, recommendation, clickable citation or URL, site crawl, AI referral traffic and conversion are separate signals. A sampled visibility share is a sample, and total consumer market share is a different number.
- 4. Run a comparable trial. Use the same unbranded and branded prompt panels, market, language, competitors, engines and daily answer budget in every trial. Review raw answers and citation URLs, test exports, and price the full intended panel.
How Was This List Built and Kept Current?
- Company screen. Every tool comes from a named, accountable commercial company: an established software provider, an established parent company, or a specialist with verifiable team, funding or customer evidence. Related variants from one provider are one entry.
- Left out. One-time free graders, raw LLM and SERP APIs, local SEO products that do not monitor AI answers over time, and products no longer sold independently.
- Scope. A broad market inventory. It carries no guarantee that every vendor worldwide is included.
- Pros and cons. Editorial reads of public features, pricing and plan limits. No hands-on accuracy benchmark or customer-support test was run.
- Verification. Vendor pricing, product, support and company pages were read. No sales calls, login purchases or contract negotiations took place, and ambiguous prices are flagged instead of estimated.
- Refresh. Plans change often. Confirm the engines, sampling method, allowance, reporting access and contract on the vendor's pricing page before you buy.
- October 12, 2026. Added Adaptify and ChatRank, bringing the list to 54 tools. Prices for both were read on October 12, 2026.
- October 11, 2026. First version of the list: 52 tools, prices checked October 10, 2026.
Related Questions
A tool says 50 prompts. How many answers does it check each month?
That depends on engines and cadence. A panel of 50 prompts across 5 engines checked daily for 30 days needs 7,500 engine checks (50 × 5 × 30). Tools sell prompts, answer checks, credits or reports, and these units differ. Nightwatch Starter lists 50 prompts and 1,500 AI answers, which cannot run every prompt on all six engines daily. Convert every plan to engine checks per month before comparing prices.
Why does one tool show my brand in ChatGPT answers while another tool does not?
Tools collect answers in different ways. Browser observations, direct model API calls and keyword-derived answer indexes can disagree. Gumshoe uses direct API simulated conversations, and Ahrefs Brand Radar pairs a large keyword-derived index with separate custom prompt panels. Engine and model version, search-grounded mode, location, language and sampling count also change the result.
A tool says my brand was mentioned. Does that mean ChatGPT cited my site?
No. Brand mention, recommendation, clickable citation or URL, site crawl, AI referral traffic and conversion are separate signals. BrightEdge AI Catalyst, for example, separates mentions from citations. A missing citation also fails to prove that content was never retrieved.
Does a Request a Demo button mean I have to book a demo to buy?
Not always. Of the 54 tools, 28 sell through public self-service signup and 6 sell lower tiers that way. Brandlight, BrightEdge AI Catalyst, seoClarity ArcAI, BrandRank.AI and Reputation each offer a demo or quote path without stating that a demo is mandatory. Look for a checkout or signup button on the pricing page.
The listed price is $29 or $399 a month. What does that price leave out?
Check the billing term, the unit and the engine list. 4 priced tools show a rate that requires annual billing: Goodie, DemandSphere DemandMetrics GenAI, Surfer AI Search Analytics, Onclusive GEO Analytics. Semrush charges per domain, and Gumshoe Pro charges per project. OtterlyAI Lite covers four engines, and Gemini, AI Mode and Claude cost extra. Searchable Pro includes three models and sells six more as paid add-ons.
More resources like this go out as I write them.
